World silicones demand to rise 5.9 percent annually to 2017 – Freedonia

New York – A market research report from Freedonia expects world demand for silicones to rise 5.9 percent per annum to $18.9 billion (€14.6 billion) in 2017.

Gains, representing an acceleration from recent historical trends, are expected to be stimulated by an improved outlook for global manufacturing and construction activity from the recession-affected period 2007-2012, particularly in North America and Western Europe.
