Thai rubber farmers plan price protest

Bangkok – The president of the Para Rubber Growers Co-operative Federation of Thailand announced on 21 April that he will mobilise growers nationwide for a mass protest rally in Bangkok this month, reports the Bangkok Post. The rally is intended to draw the government’s attention to the plummeting price of rubber.

Perk Lertwangpong is reported as saying that growers had given the authorities several months to solve the problem of falling rubber prices but they had “completely failed”.
