Larry Johnson to take forward SaarGummi's recovery
ERJ staff report (BC)
Wadern-Büschfeld, Germany – Larry Johnson (49) has been named the new CEO of automotive seal manufacturer SaarGummi Group. Johnson, previously vice president for North America at the automotive supplier Cooper Standard Automotive, has taken over from Detlev Bartels-Kromrey.
Having assumed the position of interim CEO in June 2011, Bartels-Kromrey is credited with strengthening the company’s position following the acquisition of SaarGummi on its insolvency by the Chinese conglomerate Chongqing Light Industry & Textile Holding (CQLT).
SaarGummi employs around 4,400 staff worldwide in 15 plants in Europe, the USA, South America and Asia.
The development and manufacture of automotive body seals are its major activities, with the production of the attendant tools. The group also produces moulded goods for hydraulics and safety applications and the shoe trade. It supplies the construction industry with sealing systems for windows, facades and roofs.
