Russian cargo charter suffers tire burst at Mumbai airport

Mumbai – The main runway at Mumbai International Airport (MIA) was closed for three hours on 4 January after a Russian Antonov An-74 charter cargo plane suffered a tire bust, reports the Times of India.

An MIA spokesman said that about 12.43 pm, the airport airside team detected a fire on the plane as smoke and flame were emanating from its undercarriage. Both starboard tires had burst.
