Toronto - Lehigh Technologies Inc.'s plans to produce its micronised recycled rubber powders in Europe is in the market development phase, according to Lehigh CEO Alan Barton.
About nine months ago, Lehigh started making contact with Hera Holding, a waste-to-resource company based in the northern Spanish province of Navarra, Mr. Barton said at the 2012 Rubber Recycling Symposium, held in Toronto 17-19 Oct.
Lehigh announced the deal with Hera in September, in which Lehigh would supply its patented technology to manufacture ultra-fine rubber powders and Hera would supply the waste rubber for recycling.
Hera has a small plant in Navarra which can be modified to accommodate Lehigh's technology, according to Mr. Barton. Lehigh should make further announcements about the project in the next 12 to 18 months, he added.
