Tokyo NR prices weaker on Friday

London - Rubber prices trended downwards on Friday 31 August. On Tokyo's Tocom Exchange, prices for the six-month contract were down by 4 yen at just under yen 218 ($2.78) towards the end of the evening sessiony. Shorter-dated prices were fractionally weaker, trading just below yen 218 on Friday evening.
In Singapore, the February 2013 TSR20 contract on SGX was down 4 cents at around $2.56 in light trading; September 2012 prices eased by 4 cents, to trade around $2.55 toward the end of the Friday evening session.
In India, NMCE said September prices increased fractionally to close just below Rs 173 ($3.11). October prices were unchanged, to close at just under Rs 170.
In China the Shanghai Futures Exchange contract for September fell by 0.3 to close at Yuan 21.1 ($3.32) per kilo on Friday. October prices fell by 0.4 to close at yuan 21.3.
