London - Rubber prices trended upwards on Friday 24 August. On Tokyo's Tocom Exchange, prices for the six-month contract were up by 2 yen at just under yen 222 ($2.82) toward the end of the evening session on Friday. Shorter-dated prices were trading down 4 around yen 209 on Friday evening.
In Singapore, the February 2013 TSR20 contract on SGX was trading up 2 at $2.60; September 2012 prices were unchanged, to trade around $2.53 toward the end of the Friday evening session.
In India, NMCE said September prices rose by a rupee to Rs 167 ($3.01). October prices also rose, to close at just under Rs 166.
In China the Shanghai Futures Exchange contract for September eased by a fraction of a yuan to close at Yuan 21.5 ($3.38) per kilo on Friday. October prices also fell slightly to close at yuan 21.5.
