Pirelli, Milan polytechnic extend tyre research co-operation
ERJ staff report (DS)
Milan -- Pirelli has extended its previously-announced co-operation with Milan Polytechnic into tyre research. The new agreement will last three years (until 2014) and covers F1 tyres, de-vulcanisation processes, bio-polymers, nano-fillers and the development of mathematical models related to the cyber-tyre.
"The agreement signed today with the Polytechnic of Milan further strengthens an already strong partnership and demonstrates the continued commitment of our society to support research and training. We are confident that the Joint Labs, which is a virtuoso example of collaboration between universities and business, will give an important contribution to innovation in the areas we identified as strategic for the future of our industry with the aim of further strengthening our leadership position in the premium segment, "said the chairman of Pirelli, Marco Tronchetti Provera.
