Hannover, Germany -- The German subsidiary of Mitas, 'CGS Reifen Deutschland', has changed its name to 'Mitas GmbH'. Thechange became effective on 1 October. Mitas is a major European producer of agricultural and other off-road tyres based in the Czech Republic.
Mitas has been producing Continental farm tyres under licence since 2004, when Mitas bought the agricultural division of Continental A.G. and the farm tyre production facility in Otrokovice.
Over the past 12 months, Mitas has consolidated the sales network that now handles sales of all tyres produced by Mitas, i.e. Mitas, Cultor and farm Continental tyres. â€œMitas is changing the subsidiaries' names purely for marketing reasons. TheÂ ownership of Mitas remains unchanged,â€ Marketing and Sales Director Andrew Mabin said. The company maintains 13Â sales subsidiaries, mainly in Europe, and sells tyres in 95 countries and territories worldwide.
