Taiwan Cement Group earnings top NT$10.5 billion in 2010

Taipei, Taiwan -- The three major subsidiaries of the Taiwan Cement Group raked in combined earnings of NT$12.577 billion (euro 307 million) in 2010, setting a historic record, Taiwan Economic News reported.
Among the subsidiaries, China Synthetic Rubber made NT$1.081 billion, a 33 percent jump year-on-year while Taiwan Prosperity improved by 658 percent making NT$3.465 billion and Taiwan Cement made NT$8.031 billion, an 8 percent increase.
China Synthetic Rubber, which produces carbon black products, was reported to have recorded increased shipments at all of its production sites in Taiwan, mainland China, the US and India last year.
The carbon black maker is also involved in research and development to boost earnings. It was reported that the US plant was increasing the development of products such as carbon nanotubes, conductive carbon black and eco-friendly carbon black.
