Alpha reports global expansion; higher sales
ERJ staff report (DS)
Akron, Ohio -- Alpha Technologies, which makes viscosity and processability testing equipment for the rubber industry, says it grew its sales 41 percent in 2010 and is expanding worldwide.
Greg Clark, Vice President - Segment Leader, says the Company has increased worldwide staffing by 20 percent, much of that in the field service ranks. Staffing numbers have nearly doubled in the Asia Pacific region, and a new distribution center has been opened in Shanghai. “We're growing where our customers are growing,†he explains. “That means we are investing in Latin America, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, India and China and Southeast Asia.â€
Alpha bought the Tech-Pro business in 2008 and has used this as a platform to develop sales in more cost-conscious markets, such as China.
