    ERJ staff report (DS)

Tokyo - For the first time, The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., is taking part in the Ecologic Vehicles & Renewable Energies International Conference & Exhibition ("EVER") in Monaco. The event runs from March 31 through April 3 in the Principality of Monaco. Yokohama Rubber exhibits the BluEarth-1, the first product in its new eco tyre series BluEarth, which will be released in Europe in April.

EVER Monaco was launched in 2006 with the support of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco. It consists of an eco car section displaying electric vehicles (EVs), hybrid cars, fuel cell electric vehicles and related parts, and a renewable energy section featuring technologies using natural energies. Last year, about 70 companies and organisations exhibited, drawing about 10,000 visitors.

Yokohama also said its BluEarth products will be supplied to Team Meca Sport Passion, participating in the Monte Carlo Rally for Alternative Energy Vehicles, part of the FIA Alternative Energies Cup. Four Toyota hybrid cars will be equipped with BluEarth-1 tyres. The rally will take place in the Principality of Monaco from March 31 through April 3.
