Cabot declares Force Majeure at Port Jerome - report

Port Jerome, France -- Cabot Corp has reportedly informed customers that it declared Force Majeure at its carbon black plant in Port Jerome, France. The situation will continue for around 14 days from the 18 March announcement. The situation was caused by a flare on the stack.
Notch Consulting said the equipment malfunction means that the plant cannot meet its environmental permits and therefore must shut down until the equipment is repaired.
Cabot had no information available on its website.
