Tappers encouraged to Kerala by new training scheme

Kottayam, India – The Indian Rubber Board has set up a new training scheme to combat a shortage of tappers in the Kerala region, it said in a 31 Jan statement.

The Board has decided to launch the scheme to introduce labourers from other states to plantations in the area, the chairman VJ Kurian in a message sent to the state level inauguration of a training programme for non-Keralite tappers.
