Cabot says volumes up by 30 percent from a year ago

Boston, Massachusetts -- Cabot Corp, the world's largest supplier of carbon black said it sold 28 percent more carbon black in the three months to March 2010 than it had a year earlier.
In the company's Rubber Blacks Business, profits increased by $56 million when compared to the same quarter of fiscal 2009. Volumes in Asia Pacific and China increased by 50% over the second quarter of fiscal 2009, South America by 31%, North America by 14% and Europe, Middle East, Africa by 8%.
