ERJ staff report (TB)
Pacific Grove, California -- Soberay & Sons Ltd., which specialises in the purchasing and sale of new and used tyre and rubber machinery worldwide, has joined the Tire Retread & Repair Information Bureau (TRIB).
The company, which has its US base in Cleveland, also operates offices in India and Malaysia and maintains a vast inventory of used/refurbished machinery, according to TRIB.
TRIB managing director Harvey Brodsky said the organisation “continues to add members as more and more companies in the new tyre and retread industries throughout the world realise that TRIB is the only international retread industry association representing new tyre manufacturers, retreaders, tyre dealers, suppliers to the retread industry and tyre repair companies.â€
According to its Web site, Soberay & Sons has been supplying the rubber industry with rebuilt and used equipment for 40 years. “Due to the rising number of corporations closing manufacturing facilities in America, we have positioned ourselves as the leading liquidators of tyre plants in the world,†the company said, noting that it has “successfully liquidated and are in the process of liquidating several facilities,†including a Firestone passenger tyre plant in Decatur, Illinois; a Pirelli North America Inc. car tyre plant in Hanford, California; Titan International Inc.'s Natchez, Missisippi, truck tyre factory; and a Goodyear plant in Melbourne, Australia.
