Kaolin demand set to hit 24.8M tonnes in 2013

Cleveland, Ohio — Industry research company Freedonia Group Inc. is forecasting global demand for kaolin, an additive used in the rubber industry, will increase 1.7 percent annually to reach 24.8 million tonnes in 2013.

In its ‘World Kaolins’ report, Freedonia said kaolin demand in advanced economies is expected to recover from the declines of the 2003-2008 period, but will decelerate somewhat in emerging economies, a statement from the Cleveland, Ohio-based company said.
