CAS wins funding for non-contact cure-state test

Reinbek, Germany — CAS Computerunterstützte Automatisierungssysteme GmbH & Co. KG (CAS) has won a grant of over euro 200 000 to help develop a non-contact test for the cure state of rubber materials during vulcanisation.

Initially the project is aimed at the tyre industry, and is expected to be developed within two years. There seems little reason why such a system could not easily be adapted to other rubber industry application.
