Traffic quadruples on REACH-IT site ahead of 1 Dec. deadline
ERJ staff report (DS)
Helsinki, Finland -- EChA, the European Chemicals Agency, said about 8000 users are currently logging into its site daily, up from 2000 in mid-September. The organisation has seen 1.2 million pre-registrations under the REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of CHemicals) legislation and is expecting a further surge in the final two weeks before the deadline on 1 December.
EChA said, "A very large number of additional submissions are expected to arrive during the remaining two weeks before the pre-registration deadline on 1 December (midnight GMT). From Monday the daily and total number of pre-registrations will be published on the EChA home page every day (see link below).
EChA advised potential registrants, "to consider submitting their pre-registrations outside of peak hours." It said the peak hours on the site are 07:00 - 17:00 GMT (London time) which is 08:00 - 18:00 in Frankfurt and Paris). The time of minimum activity on the site is from 23:00 - 05:00 GMT.
