PolymerLatex raising XSBR prices
MARL, Germany (June 9, 2008) -- PolymerLatex GmbH & Co. K.G. said the increases in feedstock, energy and transportation costs has caused it to hike prices for all carboxylated styrene-butadiene latex by about 20 percent.
The increases take place from 15 June, or as contracts allow.
Efficiency gains and cost reductions can't overcome these sharp escalation in expenses, according to Stefan Brandt, managing director and chief marketing officer of PolymerLatex. He cautioned that future price changes might be necessary.
XSBR is used in the carpet industry and a wide range of specialty applications in the textile-, tyre cord-, automotive-, non woven-, adhesive-, sealants-, construction, paints and coatings industry.
