Freudenberg-NOK acquires US diaphragm maker, Precision Industries
Plymouth, Michigan -Â Freudenberg-NOK General Partnership said it has acquired the assets of Precision Industries Corporation of Germantown, Wisconsin, a developer and manufacturer of specialised custom diaphragms. This acquisition provides Freudenberg-NOK with the desired fabric reinforced diaphragm capabilities in North America, as well as on a global basis with its partners in Europe and Japan. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Precision Industries Corporation was established in 1986 as a manufacturer of high quality diaphragms, specialising in fabric-reinforced diaphragms for small engines, fuel systems, irrigation, gaseous fuels, pneumatic controls and medical regulators. In addition, Precision routinely develops custom diaphragms for use in industries requiring certifications such as UL, FDA, NSF, DoD, CSA and a variety of other regulated standards.
Precision's product capabilities include custom diaphragms made of rubber, rubber-fabric combinations, and speciality materials as well as die-cut diaphragms and gaskets from coated fabrics. The company's designs also encompass insert-moulded diaphragms, and over-moulded diaphragms, but their distinction is assembling specialised diaphragms. Using state-of-the-art equipment, including PLC controlled presses, 3-D modeling systems, and robust manufacturing software; they optimise processes to bring customers diaphragm solutions, which are both robust and cost-efficient.
John Plant, owner and president, established Precision Industries as a strong and focused supplier of specialty diaphragm products for general industry markets. Plant will continue with Freudenberg-NOK through a transition period. Eric Weber, currently vice president of operations, sales and marketing, will manage the operations at the Germantown facility for Freudenberg-NOK.
