Continental Carbon files for rehearing in emissions case

Houston, Texas – Carbon black producer Continental Carbon Co. has filed a petition for a rehearing of an appeals court decision made last month that reaffirmed a $20.7 million fine against the company.

The Houston-based firm filed the action April 11 in the US Court of Appeals, 11th Circuit, in Montgomery, Alabama, the same court where a three-judge panel upheld a 2004 district court ruling against Continental Carbon.
