Michelin wins $92 million contract from US department of Defense
Washington DC--Michelin Aircraft Tire Corp., Greenville, South Carolina is being awarded $92,884,325 to exercise an option under previously awarded firm-fixed-price performance based logistics contract (N00383-00-D-042G) for support of 23 separate naval aviation tires supporting requirements for the F-14, V-22, H-60, AV-8B, P-3, S-3, F-18, EA-6B, H-46, T-2, H-53, E-2, C-2 and H3 aircraft.
This contract combines requirements for the Navy (90 percent) and the Goverments of Spain (2 percent); Kuwait (2 percent); Japan (1 percent); Egypt (1 percent); Taiwan (1 percent); Malaysia (1 percent); Italy (1 percent); and New Zealand (1 percent) under the Foreign Military Sales Program. Work will be performed in Greenville, S.C., and work is expected to be completed by January 2010. Contract funds will not expire by the end of the fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured, with 11 proposals solicited and two offers received. The Naval Inventory Control Point is the contracting activity.
