Akron. Ohio--Rubber Pro Co. Ltd. is organising a rubber/latex global summit in Bangkok, Thailand, Dec. 14-17.

The Rubber & Latex World Summit 2005 is the first of its kind to be held and will deal with global issues facing the rubber industry, according to Pratum Vongpanish, managing director of Rubber Pro. It will take place at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.

A variety of experts in the rubber and latex arenas already have committed to the conference, she said, adding that attendees will benefit for interaction with speakers and participants who have extensive knowledge of polymer blends, applications and fabrication techniques.

The first day of the summit will deal with rubber technology. Latex technology will be cover on 15 Dec, thermoplastic elastomers will fill the third day and marketing management and a regulatory update highlight 17 Dec.

Also expected to be discussed is the possible creation of a global rubber institute in Thailand, managed by rubber professionals and industry experts, Vongpanish said.

A Web site on the event will be up and running at the end of September, she said
