TPMS makers gear up for boom in sales

London–Following last week’s announcement that new cars in the US will have to have tyre pressure monitors (TPMS) fitted as standard from 2008, a number of companies are making announcements about their TPMS technology.

Transense Technology expects to introduce its Surface Acoustic Wave technology later this year, following a service agreement between Honeywell and Michelin relating to Michjelin’s eTire system for truck tyres. Michelin is licensed to use the Transense tyre pressure monitoring technology./p>
