Indian government may give retrospective subsidy to 2003 NR exports

Following higher-than-expected rubber exports last fiscal year, India is expected to award subsidies to all exports. The government authorised subsidies for 60 000 tonnes of exports in 2003/04, but actual exports reached a record 76 kt. The Commerce Ministry is likely to permit subsidies for the extra 16 kt, according to a report in the Hindu Business Line.
