Cooper-Standard inks tech pact with Korean firm

Novi, Michigan-Cooper Tire & Rubber Co.’s Cooper-Standard Automotive unit has signed a technical assistance agreement with Daekyung Chemical Corp. of South Korea covering the design and engineering development support for engine mount systems on three future Hyundai Motor Co. and Kia Motors Corp. vehicle platforms.

Daekyung Chemical is a Kyunggi-Do, South Korea-based maker of rubber seals, hoses and vibration-damping components at two plants. Annual sales are in the $100 million range, according to information on the firm’s Web site.
