Continental planning tyre JV in China -- report
Continental AG may be planning to make tyres in China. A report in the Hannovershe Allgemeine Zeitung quoting management board member Hans-Joachim Nikolin, said Conti aims to create a joint venture to take over an existing factory, modernise it with an investment under €100 million. A decision is expected during 2004, said the report.
A spokesperson for Conti confirmed that the company is interested in pursuing a tyre joint venture in China, and was looking at various possibilities, but was not ready to make any announcement on the subject.
