US groups call tyre aging bill requirements ‘premature’

Washington-Requiring tyre manufacturers and retailers to provide point-of-sale information on a tyre’s manufacture date is “premature” until tyre aging studies are performed, the Tire Industry Association and the Specialty Equipment Market Association have told US senator Mike DeWine.
DeWine is sponsoring a bill requiring both, but TIA and SEMA, in a letter to the senator, insisted the studies must come first.
