Low-power chips were designed for tyre pressure monitors
California-based Atmel Corp says it has launched a range of low-power radio transmitter chips designed specfically for use with tyre pressure monitoring systems.
The company is offering two chips, capable of running at different frequencies. One unit (ATA5756) is designed for applications in the 315-MHz range (North America). The other (ATA5757) is dedicated for 433 MHz (Europe), but can also be operated at 448 MHz as typically requested for the Korean market.
