Victims of West blast sue supplier companies
A lawsuit, filed in Lenoir County Superior Court alleges that over 25 suppliers of machinery and equipment to West Pharmaceuticals were negligent, resulting in the 2003 explosion that killed 6 employees of West and injured many more. West Pharmaceuticals is not named in the suit. The suit was filed by representatives of some of those injured and killed in the incident. Goodyear Tire and Rubber, one of the companies named in the suit, said federal investigators have not linked their products to the explosion.
