Continental allows employees to save overtime up for early retirement
Hannover--Continental AG has introduced a voluntary scheme in which employees can work unpaid overtime, and bank it, to retire early on full benefits, according to AFX news agency. The scheme is entirely voluntary, but participants would not be paid for the overtime they choose to 'bank' under the scheme. Instead, the time would be used to bring forward the retirement date. On retirement, the employee would receive a lump sum as payment for the overtime worked.
