John Crane buys Chinese seal-maker
London--The John Crane organisation has bought Chinese-based Tianjin Timing Seals Co Ltd and associated technology for £2.5m in cash. The company, which will be known as John Crane Timing, makes gas sealing products for industrial power applications in China.
John Crane is part of the specialty engineering business of Smiths Group. John Langston, managing director of Smiths' specialty engineering division, said “This acquisition combines John Crane Timing's proprietary technology and capability with the world-wide resources of the John Crane organisation to offer the very latest sealing solutions for major industries in China and internationallyâ€.
