China Synthetic to boost overseas Carbon black capacity
Taipei--China Synthetic Rubber Corp. (CSRC), the world's fourth-largest carbon-black manufacturer by revenue, aims to overtake Columbian Chemicals to take third slot in the global rankings. CSRC has announced a series of measures to boost capacity and revenues in 2005, to achieve this aim.
CSRC is doubling the capacity of its plant in Maanshan, Anhui Province in China, bringing it to 240 kt/year. The work will begin early in 2005, and is due on stream in 2006, said the company. CSRC said it is also looking at investments in Europe and South America. The company projected sales would increase by 10 percent, from a projected NT$10 000 million (€231 million) in 2004.
