Yokohama to expand Philippines again -- reports
Clark Ecominic Zone, Philippines--Yokohama Tire Philippines Inc. is reportedly expanding its tyre factory in The Philippines for a third time. The latest announcement follows a reduction in import duties on raw materials, according to local newspaper reports.
YTP president Kazuo Watanabe is reported as saying that the expansion project will increase production to 20 000 u/d. The plant currently produces 9000 u/d. The expansion will require an additional four-hectare floor area and YTP expects to hire additional 500-600 workers to meet the additional needs of the plant.
