Siamese Tyre orders equipment for new tyre mixing line from UK firm
By Liz White, ERJ staff
Nottingham, UK-Siamese Tyre is setting up a new mixing plant as part of its new radial tyre plant, being built on a greenfield site near Bangkok in Thailand. And UK firm Chronos Richardson is supplying controls for the intake, weighing, feeding and process controls for its compounding lines for the tyre masterbatch and final mix.
Chronos said Siamese Tyre cited the "reliability, accuracy and process quality improvements" with the UK firm's equipment as decisive factors in choosing the equipment. Another key factor was the "design flexibility" of Chronos' CR 600 XP control and "its capability to control multiple mixing lines."
For Siamese Tyre's new mixing line, the CR 600 XP will control a ThyssenKrupp mixer on the masterbatch line and a Farrel mixer on the final mix line.
"It is also very encouraging to secure this order despite strong competition from a number of other European based equipment suppliers," said John Dance, regional sales manager, in a company statement.
Chronos will supply:
* Big Bag Intake system for carbon black, white fillers and silica
* Bulk powders weighing and feeding system, which will operate on a gravity basis
* Oils and polymer weighing and dosing systems
* Final mix feed system
* Overall plant process and mixing control via a central CR 600 XP process control system
