Columbian Chemicals announces price rise in Europe
Marietta, Georgia - Columbian Chemicals Co. has said it will increase the price of rubber-grade carbon blacks produced at its five European manufacturing facilities. The increase of € 50 per tonne will be effective on all shipments made on or after September 5, 2005.
"Raw material, energy and transportation costs continue to rise to unprecedented levels. Unfortunately, these cost increases can no longer be absorbed by Columbian, and higher prices are required for us to remain a long-term viable supplier,†said James Howard, senior vice president of marketing, sales and carbon black technology.
