Dana Corp. to supply drivetrain, sealing systems for 2006 Explorer
Toledo, Ohio --Dana Corp. will supply seals and gaskets, as well as the front axle assembly and driveshafts, for the redesigned 2006 Ford Explorer.
Dana will supply oil-pan, front-cover, exhaust and cylinder-head gaskets and valve-stem seals for the Explorers 4600-cc engine, along with a thermoset cylinder head cover module for the 4000-cc engine.
Dana also will supply all of the vehicle's front driveshafts, as well as the rear driveshafts for the V-8 and 4x2 Explorer models.
Dana did not disclose the value of the contract, but said the Explorer was the most popular sport utility vehicle in the US last year with more than 300 000 units produced.
