Trelleborg receives largest ever offshore oil and gas order
ERJ staff report (RPN)
Houston, Texas – Trelleborg A.B. has been awarded a contract to supply drill riser buoyancy modules to one of the world's major leading drilling companies, reports Rubber & Plastics News. The order is the largest to date for Trelleborg's offshore operation; the company said it was in the range of $50-60m (€37.4-44.9m), depending on the scope of the final project.
The drill riser buoyancy modules will be produced at Trelleborg's facilities in Houston starting in the first quarter of 2014. The company said they will be delivered through the end of 2015. Trelleborg said it had invested heavily in the oil and gas segment.
Fredrik Meuller, president of the Trelleborg offshore and construction business area, said the company is delighted about the contract because the company has an opportunity to apply its solutions for exploration and extraction of oil and gas in deep waters.
