London cab firm opts for Hankook tires to reduce emissions
ERJ staff report (BC)
Peterborough, UK – London’s largest private minicab company, Addison Lee, has adopted Hankook tires as recommended by distributor Universal Tyres to lower its fleet’s emissions and reduce fuel consumption, reports Fleet News.
Universal Tyres recommended the fitment of Hankook Kinergy tyres to the whole of Addison Lee's fleet in 2009, since when the taxi company has reported a reduction of expenditure on tires in excess of 25 percent.
The partnership between Addison Lee, Hankook Tire and Universal Tyres has been praised by the non-profit emission reduction organisation Change London.
Jonathan Steel, the chairman of Change London, said: “Road transport is responsible for a large proportion of London’s air quality problems.
“Addison Lee’s ongoing work to proactively minimise the emissions from its fleet is to be congratulated. We urge all fleet operators to follow their example.”
