Degussa offers $4 million settlement in carbon black antitrust case
Boston, Massachussetts -- Degussa Corp., Degussa AG and Degussa Engineered Carbons LP are offering $4 million in partial settlement of a carbon black antitrust case before the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
If the court approves the settlement, Degussa will use the money to pay the claims of direct purchasers of carbon black in the US between 30 Jan., 1999 and 18 Jan., 2005.
The US court has scheduled a hearing 20 March to rule on the adequacy and fairness of the proposed settlement; members of the class action have until 14 Feb. to submit their comments to the court or apply to speak at the hearing.
