Berstorff to merge with Krauss-Maffei
Munich, Germany - Mannesmann Plastics Machinery Group (MPM) has announced sweeping structural changes among its subsidiaries. The main issue affecting the rubber industry is that the Berstorff extrusion operations will be merged into the Krauss-Maffei organisation.
In a statement, MPM said, by merging their extrusion businesses, the combined company will cover a wider range of applications and products in the field of extrusion technology and with the exception of the sheet extrusion there will be no overlaps in the product ranges. "The customers will benefit from a wider product spectrum and a deeper application know-how", said chairman and CEO Richard Osborne . The merger will be finalised by the end of fiscal year 2006/2007.
Osborne announced that he will become the Chairman of the MPM Advisory Board. His successor will be Dr. Dietmar Straub with effect from 1 April 2007 and he will implement the strategic decisions as chairman of the management board and CEO.
