Michelin seeks 222 drivers to drive 222 222km in 222 hours
Frankfurt - In an effort to get into the Guinness World Record book, Michelin Germany is planning the world's biggest tyre test in September 2007.
The company is seeking 222 drivers to cover 222 222 km in 222 hours at the Automotive Test centre in Papenburg, Germany. This is one of the world's largest vehicle testing grounds. The test will be monitored by the Gesellschaft für technische Überwachung (GTÜ), which will monitor tyre wear with as much accuracy as it can manage.
Drivers over the age of 21 who want to take part should register at the event website (see below) from 9 July until 5 August. Hopeful test drivers can register as teams of 3 or 6 people. The three three-person teams who manage the most consistent lap times - as measured by professional data tracking technology - over 72 hours will each win a prze of €10 000.
Michelin aims to use the test to prove that its tyres offer excellent longevity compared with other tyres.
