Myanmar earns €75.6m in rubber exports
ERJ staff report (TP)
Yangon, Myanmar – The Ministry of Commerce said Myanmar earned more than $102m (€75.6m) in raw rubber exports, up from $94m (€69.7m) last year.
According to export earnings published for the period from 1 April to 11 October, more than 40,000 tonnes of raw rubber was exported.
However, Khine Myint, secretary for the Myanmar Association of Rubber Producers, said the heavy monsoon delayed the regular production of rubber in many plantations
In addition, due to the price devaluation of rubber in international markets, some exporters say they actually earned less.
Myanmar exports raw rubber mainly to China as well as Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, South Korea and India.
