USW activist speaks at US-China Commission hearing
Fayetteville, North Carolina -Â Members of the US-China Economic and Security Review Commission were scheduled to hear testimony on Thursday from a United Steelworkers local union leader, representing workers who produce 50 000 tyres a day.
During a commission hearing at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, Darryl Jackson, president of USW Local 959, representing 1800 members employed at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in Fayetteville, was due to tell the panel of the mounting threat that his members face from tyres imported from China.
