KKPC to expand three rubber plants in Korea - report
Seoul -- Korea Kumho Petrochemical Co., has reportedly said it intends to expand its rubber operations substantially. According to a report on the Korea.net website, the company expects to spend 285.3 billion won (Euro 220 million) to increase capacity of BR, SBR and 6PPD by 2010.
The report said Korea Kumho's BR plant at Yeosu will increase capacity to 342 kt/year from 222 kt by October 2009 and the SBR plant at Ulsan will increase capacity to 531 kt/year from 421 kt by June 2010.
The company will also increase capacity of the antioxidant 6PPD plant in Yeosu to 70 kt/year from 31 kt tons by August 2008.
