Simrit offers CAD system to make large diameter seals
Plymouth, Michigan --Simrit has launched its Xpress technology that allows the company to produce customised seal designs up to 100 inches in diameter (2.5 metres), for the mining, steel and press industries.
The machine uses a CNC lathe that is integrated with advanced computer software to produce custom seals without mould charges, said the company, in a 12 Nov statement.
Simrit said that its customers would benefit from cost-effective solutions for low quality production and speedy prototyping.
“We are thrilled to offer this new technology to better satisfy our customers' needs,†said Clive Hill, market development director, Merkel Heavy Duty Industry, Simrit, in the statement.
Customers will be able to access and design their products online, choosing from hundreds of standard designs and materials, including polyurethanes, elastomers, plastomers, PTFEs and others, by going to the company's website.
Simrit said that users will receive instant online price quotes and a guarantee as to when products will be shipped (many within 24 hours).
Housing drawing and inspection reports will also be available online.
