Malaysia's NR production continues decline

Kuala Lumpur -- Production of natural rubber in Malaysia in November was 96.6 kilotonnes, 3.8 percent down on the same period in 2006. in the first 11 months, the country produced 1.107 million tonnes of rubber.
Imports, especially of latex concentrate continued to boom, reaching 59.4 kilotonnes 44 percent compared to the same month in 2006. The country exported 86.8 ktonnes, up by 3 percent on the year-ago figure.
Domestic consumption, at 39.1 kt was up by 21 percent on the same month last year, while stocks stood at 156.4 kt, down by 20percent on the stocks held in November 2006.
