Cooper recalls 48 000 light truck tyres
WASHINGTON (March 24, 2008) - Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. has recalled 48,037 light truck tyres, Load Range E, sizes LT265/75R16 and LT235/85R16.
The tyres-all made between 2 Dec. 2007, and 9 Feb., 2008-can develop bulges in the lower sidewall indicating a separation between two lower sidewall components, which in turn can lead to tyre failure and vehicle crashes, Cooper told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The tyres were sold under the Cooper Discoverer ATR, Dean Wildcat Radial A/T, Mentor All Terrain Radial SXT and Mastercraft Courser A/T brand names.
