Lear to make tyre monitors in China
Beijing, China -- Automotive interior components supplier Lear Corp. will begin producing tyre pressure monitoring systems in China in the third quarter of this year to supply automakers in China and the United States.
The tyre pressure monitoring systems will be made in Lear's newly built subsidiary Lear Automotive Electronics and Electrical Production Corp. in Shanghai. Production capacity of the systems is two million sets, including two million receivers and eight million transmitter sensors, said Tom Tang ], vice president, Asia Pacific, Electrical & Electronics, Lear Corp. He expects the plant will reach full production by the end of 2009.
